The NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) is a consortium of the eight leading universities in NSW & the ACT. Funded by the NSW Government through the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer, the NSSN positions itself at the nexus of universities, government and industry to devise innovative smart sensing solutions to environmental, economic and societal challenges; and to position NSW as a global leader in smart sensing.

CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, has been solving the nation’s greatest challenges with solutions from science for over 100 years.  While many of the challenges are ever present – sustainable energy and resources, food security and quality, growing our future industries, for example – how we are solving those challenges has only accelerated with technology. Australia’s Academic and Research Network (AARNet) is a national resource – a National Research and Education Network (NREN).  AARNet provides unique information communications technology capabilities to enable Australian education and research institutions to collaborate with each other and their international peer communities. AARNet is widely regarded as the founder of the Internet in Australia and renowned as the architect, builder and operator of world-class network infrastructure for research and education.

NICTA was Australia’s foremost ICT research and development organisation.  NICTA’s ability to execute on its “Research Excellence and Wealth Creation for Australia” vision resulted in it making major contributions to applied technology innovation with impact both in Australia and internationally.
